Meet The Cubmaster!

Cubmaster Robert Christensen, aka Mr C., joined Cub Scouting in September of 1971 with Pack 200 (sponsored by the local Elks Lodge) of the Pikes Peak Council, in Colorado Springs.

He became a Boy Scout in September of 1974 with Troop 200, which was sponsored by St Luke's Lutheran Church.  Mr C. earned his Tenderfoot Rank that December and his 2nd Class Rank the following April, along with all three Eagle required Citizenship merit badges.

The Christensen family moved from Colorado to Georgia in 1975 and Mr C. joined Troop 61 in 1976, where the Elder Mr. C. took over as Scoutmaster.

After earning his First Class, Star, and Life ranks, Robert earned his Eagle Scout rank in February of 1980 and spent the next year as Troop Quartermaster.

Sadly, his Scouting activities had to end with his 18th Birthday.

Or so he thought....

In 1997, Mr C was invited to be an Adult Leader with Troop 61, becoming a Committee Member and Merit Badge councilor. Despite his muscular dystrophy, he attended Wood Badge training in 1999 as a Bodacious Beaver and completed his "ticket" a year later.

In 2004, he became the Assistant Scoutmaster in charge of new scout training, as well as designer of numerous summer camp t-shirts. Since 2005, Mr C. has taught the annual taught Whittling Chip Classes for Pack 61.

In 2009, Mr. C. took on a new role as Assistant Cubmaster for Pack 61.  Mr C then started the Pack's Pinewood Derby Design competition and the Hot Rod Hootananny.

In 2011, Mr C. started his career as Cubmaster of Pack 61 and has not slowed down since, striving to make Pack 61 the best Cub Scout unit in the Siver Comet District.
