Upcoming Events - TENTATIVE

posted Jul 23, 2020, 4:40 PM by Sharla Stewart

We have added a lot of events to the Facebook page as well as to the Google calendar for the upcoming 2020-2021 scouting year.

Please realize that all of these dates are TENTATIVE and are subject to change based on meeting restrictions by the church, local/state government, and guidelines set forth by the BSA.

We have definitely missed seeing all of our scout families but we are taking every precaution to keep everyone safe.

Scouting may have to look different this upcoming year but it will still be a fun and quality program no matter what the year brings!

Quarantine Scavenger Hunt

posted Jul 23, 2020, 4:33 PM by Sharla Stewart

In between now and the end of summer vacation (8/16/20), complete missions to rack up points. There are three teams:

Lions and Tigers
Wolves and Bears
Webelos and AOL's

There are currently 32 missions available, but more may be added as the month goes on. Each team may complete each mission only once. Since each team can only complete each mission once, it’s possible that some players on the team will complete more missions than other teammates, and not all team members will have a chance to experience each mission. If a player sees that a mission is already completed, it is because another team member has already completed that mission for their team.

At the end of the contest, the team with the highest score will each win an engraved Cub Scout medal! Scouts should submit photographic or video evidence of completion through the app in order to receive credit.

Instructions for playing are below:

Download the GooseChase iOS or Android app.
Choose to play as a guest, or register for a personal account with a username & password of your choice.
Search for and select the Pack 1316 Quarantine Scavenger Hunt game, or search for game code 3K7XW1.
Follow the prompts to select or create your player profile. If prompted, the password for the game is "cubscoutsisawesome".

The 2020 Popcorn Sale has Arrived!

posted Jul 23, 2020, 4:25 PM by Sharla Stewart

The 2020 Popcorn Sale has arrived!

Online sales are live now.  Simply go to www.trails-end.com and register for your Scout's personal online selling page.  If you signed up in previous years, just log-in and update your Scout's information.

Please see the attached online product offerings.

Let's talk for a moment about WHY we sell popcorn....

Every Scout should learn the value of hard work and earning their own way.  This is true now more than ever.  The annual popcorn sale is the perfect opportunity to teach this valuable life lesson and fund the most exciting year of Scouting ever.  In addition, fundraising helps the Pack bridge the budget gap between annual operating expenses and the money collected from each Scout's annual Pack Dues.

So what does your Scout get out of selling popcorn?

In addition to gaining self-confidence, salesmanship and communication skills, and a sense of accomplishment, 20% of each Scout's sales will go into a Scout account with the Pack for use on camping and event fees, pack dues, etc.  An additional 15% of all sales will go to the Pack for operating expenses.  This includes all online sales (currently) and take order sales (at a later date).  Prizes this year are all being offered as Amazon gift cards (see attached breakdown) so that Scouts can purchase exactly what they want.

Why Sell Online?

Selling online is the easiest, safest way for a Scout to sell.  Not only is there a greater variety of items available, online sales require no product handling (product ships direct to your customers) by the Scout or their parents!

I'm sold.  What do we do next?

First, register your Scout on www.trails-end.com for the sale.  Next, personalize their page with pictures, goals, and more.  Finally, begin selling by sharing your fundraising page via email, social media, and text message.

Happy Selling!

OA Trailblazers - October 6-8, 2017

posted Oct 17, 2017, 11:51 AM by Adam Silverberg   [ updated Oct 17, 2017, 11:55 AM ]

This year's OA Trailblazers was one for the record books.  We had over 70 people registered in our group including 25 scouts.  Our grub-masters outdid themselves with a great Saturday night meal.  It was a little sad to have to leave early due to weather concerns but we are very proud of the way the pack pulled together to keep everyone safe.  Thank you to the Order of the Arrow for another great year.  Already looking forward to next year!
